Old south Bangalore, lane by lane

Packers and movers in Gavipuram are working one of the oldest residential pockets in the south of the city. It sits beside Basavanagudi, in the stretch around the Gavi Gangadhareshwara cave temple and the Bull Temple Road side, and much of the housing has been standing a long time. That's the part of a Gavipuram job that takes the hours. The carry from the door out to wherever the truck is standing adds more. Neither is complicated work but both are slow, and a quote that doesn't account for them is a quote that's going to change on the day. Ours doesn't, because the surveyor counts the floors and walks the approach before the number goes out.

Independent houses do have one clear advantage though. There's no association, no gate pass and no service-lift slot to chase, so once the vehicle is sorted the day is yours to plan.

Timing around the temple side and the traffic

The roads around here get busy in their own way. Bull Temple Road and the routes through Basavanagudi carry steady traffic through the day, and the temple side draws crowds that make parking a large vehicle harder at some hours than others. Festival days are worth avoiding entirely if your date is flexible, the lanes simply won't take a truck comfortably.

For a local shift staying in the southern belt, over to Basavanagudi, Hanumanthanagar, Chamrajpet or the Kempegowda Nagar side, the driving is short and the day is decided by the stairs. Anything heading east or north should load early and go before the city fills up.

One pattern we see a lot around here is the family house being split or sold, with one generation moving out to a newer flat further south while the older furniture stays behind or goes into storage. Those moves need a bit more conversation than a straight shift, because half the load is going one way and half another, and the inventory has to be clear about which is which. We list it room by room at survey and mark each lot separately so nothing ends up at the wrong address.

What a move here costs

The usual city ranges apply. Roughly ₹2,500 to ₹6,000 for a single room or a few items, ₹4,000 to ₹9,000 for a 1 BHK, ₹6,000 to ₹15,000 for a 2 BHK and ₹9,000 to ₹25,000 for a 3 BHK. A short hop within south Bangalore sits at the lower end of the band.

In Gavipuram the two things that push a quote up are the floor you're on with no lift, and the distance from your door to where the truck can legally stand. Both are measured at the free survey, on video or in person, and the figure you approve is the amount on the GST invoice at the end. There's no revised number once the load is on.
