A lot of the people we move out of them work from home at least part of the week, and that changes what has to go right.

The furniture is the easy part. What matters is being back online, and that runs on a timetable nobody controls but the broadband provider. A shift of connection to a new address usually takes days rather than hours, so start it a week ahead and don't assume it'll follow you over the weekend.

For the equipment itself, back everything up before the move rather than after, and carry the laptop and the hard drives yourself. Monitors travel best in their own boxes if you kept them, and in double-walled cartons with proper padding if you didn't, screen inwards and never flat with anything stacked on top. Cables go in one labelled bag, not four.

The upside is the airport corridor, which we run daily. Moves between here, Kodigehalli, Amruthahalli, Jakkur and the Yelahanka side are routine single-day jobs, and even a shift toward the city is manageable once the flyover timing's sorted. Out here the junction and the hour decide the day far more than the distance does.
