Bike Shifting in Yemalur
Yemalur has two sides. The old village lanes, where a carrier can't turn a corner, and the premium villa communities a few hundred metres away, where the roads are wide and the garages hold some very nice motorcycles. A sports bike with full fairings, a litre-class tourer, the weekend machine that only comes out on Sunday mornings. Those are the bikes people worry about most when they move.

They're right to care. A faired bike has a lot of painted plastic that scratches easily and cracks if it's pressed in the wrong place. Moving one well is mostly about where the padding goes and where the straps don't. Tell us what the bike is when you book, and we'll plan for it.
Where the straps go on a faired bike
On a commuter bike the straps can go almost anywhere solid. On a faired sports bike they can't. Fairings, tank covers and tail sections are painted plastic, and a ratchet strap pulled tight across them will mark them at best and crack them at worst. So the straps go to the frame, the fork lowers, the footpeg hangers or the rear subframe, whichever points the bike offers, with soft loops where metal meets metal.
Everything painted that's near a strap or the vehicle side gets padded. The tank, the fairing edges, the mirrors if they're fairing-mounted, the tail. The bike is wrapped in several layers on top of that and stands upright in its own space, with nothing leaning on it.
If you have soft tie-down loops of your own, the kind owners keep for trailers, leave them with the bike. We'll use them.
Before the crew arrives
Take a few photos yourself, close up, of anything you know about, a stone chip on the fairing, a scuff on the frame slider, a mark on the exhaust. The crew photographs the whole bike before wrapping, but your own pictures of the things you already know are useful on delivery.
Remove what comes off easily and isn't needed. A tank bag, a phone mount, an action camera, a tail pack. If the bike has a quickshifter, a GPS tracker or an alarm, you may want to switch them off or put the tracker in transport mode, so you don't get alerts every time the vehicle moves.
Check the tyre pressures and the chain tension a day or two before, if you're the sort of owner who does. Not because the trip needs it, but because it gives you a baseline. If something feels off on your first ride after delivery, you'll know whether it was like that before.
If the bike runs aftermarket parts, an exhaust, a tail tidy, bar-end mirrors, mention them. Aftermarket pieces often stick out further than stock ones and the padding has to account for them.
Leave the original key and any spare with you, and give the crew the one you use. If the bike has a smart key, keep it well away from the bike once it's handed over, or it may wake the ignition in transit.
Out of the villa garage and onto Yemalur Main Road
In the villa communities the internal roads are wide, so the carrier can usually stop close to your gate. The bike is ridden or walked a few metres and loaded. Security in these projects is strict, though, and they'll want the bike logged before it leaves. Raise it with the gate a day or two ahead, including the vehicle's arrival time.
From the old village side it's the opposite, the lanes are too tight for any carrier, so the bike is brought out to a road where one can stand.
Either way, Yemalur Main Road is the bottleneck. It feeds the tech parks and jams most weekdays by half past eight. We aim to be loaded and gone before that.
Scooty shifting from the village side
Not every bike in Yemalur is a superbike. In the village lanes the everyday ride is a scooter, and moving one is a much simpler job. It's light enough to lift around a tight corner, short enough to fit on any carrier, and usually costs a bit less than a motorcycle for the same distance.
It still gets the same basic care, photographs first, padding on the mirrors and handlebar, a few layers of wrap and straps to hold it upright. Empty the boot before the crew comes.
Bike and two wheeler transport out of Yemalur
For a sports bike, transit insurance is worth a serious look. It's optional, priced on the value you declare, and for a machine with expensive bodywork the premium is a small part of what a replacement fairing costs.
Long runs go via the ORR towards Old Madras Road and Hoskote, which keeps the carrier off the city's central roads. Chennai and Hyderabad are frequent, Kerala routes are regular, and smaller towns see fewer departures, which we'd tell you upfront. The delivery day is fixed before loading.
The fuel is drained for the journey, so arrive at pickup on reserve. Give the crew a folder with a photocopy of the RC and your ID. The price comes after a free survey, in person is best for a premium bike, and it's written down with GST. If the villa is being moved too, the Yemalur packers page covers the household.

Distance sets most of it. A big faired machine can need a little more space and care on the vehicle. Ideally we see it in person, then send the number in writing, tax itemised.
To the frame, fork lowers, peg hangers or subframe, never across painted panels. Soft loops are used where metal meets metal.
