Bike Shifting in Ejipura
A lot of people buy their first proper bike while living in Ejipura. The PG is cheap, the Koramangala office is close, the salary is new, and a motorcycle or a scooty feels like the first thing that's really theirs in the city. A year or two later the job changes, or the family wants them closer to home, and the bike is the one possession they don't want to sell.

Costs you nothing and there's no salesperson at the end of it.
So it goes home. Sometimes ahead of its owner, sometimes after, often to a parent who'll keep it in the porch until the next visit. It's a simple move once the papers are in order, and the papers on a bike bought in Bangalore are where people most often get caught out.
Papers on a bike you bought in Bangalore
If you bought the bike new here, it's registered in Karnataka in your name. That's the simplest case. The bike can travel on its Karnataka plates with a copy of the RC and your ID in its folder.
If you bought it second-hand, check whether the transfer to your name was actually completed. It's common for a sale to be agreed, money paid, and the RTO paperwork left half done. A bike still in the previous owner's name is harder to explain at a checkpoint and much harder to deal with later. Finish the transfer before the bike leaves Bangalore if you possibly can.
And if there's still a loan on it, from a dealer finance scheme, tell the lender the bike is going home. Changing the registration to your home state later is a separate job with the transport department there, and not something we do.
Who receives it at home
Most bikes going home from Ejipura are received by a parent or a sibling. Give us their name and number at booking, and let them know roughly what to expect, a crew arriving with a wrapped bike, a quick check against the pickup photos, and a signature.
It's worth a call home before booking, too. Parents are sometimes less keen on a motorcycle arriving than their children expect, especially if nobody else at home rides. Agree where it'll be parked, whether a neighbour or cousin might use it now and then, and who'll keep the insurance current while you're away.
If they don't ride, ask them to leave it on its stand somewhere covered and not to start it until you're home. A bike that's been drained for transport needs fuel before it runs, which is easy to forget.
If home is a village or small town a little way off a highway, mention it. The carrier may need to meet the family at a nearby road, and it's better to agree that point in advance.
Getting out of an Ejipura lane
Ejipura's inner lanes are narrow and parked solid through the day. A carrier can't stop in most of them, so it waits on a main road, often towards the Koramangala side, and the crew walks the bike out.
Bikes at PGs here live in a tight row in front of the building or squeezed into a stilt. A word with the warden the previous night, so the bikes in front of yours are moved or their keys are handy, saves a lot of waiting.
If you're leaving the PG before the bike is collected, which is common when a notice period and a train ticket don't line up, leave the key and the paper folder with the warden or a friend who's staying. Let us know who it is, and you'll get the pickup photos on your phone wherever you've got to by then.
Silk Board is close, and anything heading across it needs to leave early. A seven o'clock pickup is the usual plan, and on a weekday it's the difference between a clear run and an hour at the junction.
Scooty shifting back home
A lot of first bikes here are scooties, practical for the short run to the office and easy to park in Ejipura's crowded lanes. A scooty is handled like any other two-wheeler on the vehicle, photographed, padded at the handlebar and mirrors, wrapped and strapped upright, and usually comes in at a lower price than a motorcycle for the same distance.
A scooty is also the bike families are most likely to actually use once it's home. A younger sibling, a parent for the market. If that's the plan, mention it, and make sure the insurance and the papers are in order before it goes.
Clear out the boot. PG scooters tend to hold a laundry bag, a rain jacket and a phone charger at the very least.
Bike and two wheeler transport from Ejipura to the home town
Home for most people here is somewhere in south India, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra or Telangana, and the regular routes out of Bangalore cover those well. A big city like Chennai or Hyderabad has frequent departures. Departures to smaller towns are fewer, and you'll know that from our quote rather than from waiting.
The delivery day is fixed before the bike is loaded, so the family can plan to be in. Ride the bike down to reserve over your last few days, as it's drained before loading anyway.
Pricing follows a free survey, a short video call is usually enough for one bike, and it comes as a written figure with GST. If you're shifting a room's worth of things too, our Ejipura packers page has the small-move side, and both can go together.
