Bike Shifting in Adugodi
Adugodi sits at the city end of Hosur Road, and for a lot of families here the road leads home. Hosur, Krishnagiri, Salem, Vellore, Chennai, the towns of Tamil Nadu are a straight run south from Dairy Circle, and when someone moves back, the bike usually follows the same road.

It's one of the simpler interstate trips we do, because it's short and the route is direct. But it's still a different state, and the border is where a bike's papers get looked at. Get the folder right and the crossing is a non-event.
Crossing into Tamil Nadu
The Karnataka and Tamil Nadu border on Hosur Road is a busy crossing, and vehicles carrying other vehicles can be stopped and asked for papers. What they want to see is simple: something showing who owns each bike and that it's being moved legitimately. A photocopy of the registration, a copy of the owner's identity card, and valid insurance cover most of it.
If the RC isn't in the name of the person sending the bike, add a short signed note from the owner, or a sale receipt if the bike was bought recently. The aim is that the folder tells a complete story without anyone needing to make a phone call.
The originals stay with you. They're what you'll need later if you re-register the bike in Tamil Nadu, which is your step to take with the RTO there and not something we arrange.
Re-registering later, explained
A bike on Karnataka plates can be ridden in Tamil Nadu, but if you're settling there for good, re-registration eventually comes up. The rules and timings are set by the transport department and can change, so check them once you've arrived rather than relying on what a neighbour did five years ago.
Insurance is the paper people check least and need most. A policy bought in Karnataka stays valid when the bike moves to Tamil Nadu, but when it comes up for renewal you'll be doing it from the new address. Make sure the insurer has your new contact details before you leave.
The thing to do before the move is make sure nothing is half finished in Karnataka. If the RC shows a bank that was repaid long ago, or a transfer of ownership was started and never completed, sort it here first. Untangling it from another state is harder.
Getting out of Adugodi's tight streets
Adugodi is old and close-packed, with a big industrial campus at its centre and narrow residential lanes around it. Kerb space goes early, and some inner lanes won't take any vehicle bigger than a tempo. We fix a stopping point where there's room and the crew walks the bike to it.
Delivery at the Tamil Nadu end works the same way in reverse. If home is in an older town centre with narrow streets, Krishnagiri's or Vellore's older quarters for example, the vehicle may stop on a main road and someone from the family meets it there. Tell us what the street is like when you book.
Builder floors here usually keep bikes in a tight strip at the gate or under the stilt. Ask neighbours to leave a gap that morning, and if a bike has to come down from a first-floor landing, which happens in older houses, tell us at booking.
The industrial campus traffic adds a shift-change rush to the local roads at certain hours. If you live near the campus gates, a pickup outside those times is far easier.
Hosur Road slows down through the day, and the Silk Board end is famous for it. An early pickup gets the carrier onto the open stretch south before the traffic builds.
Scooter shifting to a home town
A lot of the bikes going south from Adugodi are scooters, used for the short runs around Koramangala and now heading back to a family home. On the carrier a scooter gets what any two-wheeler gets, a photo record, cushioning on the bars and mirror stems, a few layers of wrap and straps that keep it standing. It's the lighter of the two, so the price is usually lower.
Families sending a scooter home sometimes ask if the papers need a Tamil Nadu address on them first. They don't, for the journey. The bike travels on its Karnataka registration with the folder above, and any change of address on the RC is done later.
If someone at home will be riding the scooter, a parent or a younger sibling, check the insurance is current before it leaves. Renewing it in Bangalore is simpler than doing it in a hurry at the other end.
Bike and two wheeler transport south, and everywhere else
Tamil Nadu towns along Hosur Road, and Chennai beyond them, are close and well served from this side of the city. Places off the main highway, a village near Dharmapuri or a hill town, can need a longer wait for a vehicle heading there, and we'll say so when we quote. Kerala and Hyderabad are regular runs as well.
Within Bangalore, Koramangala, Wilson Garden and Ejipura are a few minutes away. A bike you ride daily can usually just be ridden there, and we'd tell you so.
The tank is emptied before the bike is loaded, so don't fill up near the end. Price is agreed in writing, GST shown, after we've seen the bike, and the arrival date is set before it leaves. If the household is going to Tamil Nadu too, the Adugodi packers page covers it.
