Bike Transport Services in Koramangala
Koramangala runs on flat-shares. Three or four young professionals in a block 5 or block 6 flat, a lease, a fridge and, quite often, one bike between them. Whoever bought it, everyone rides it, and after a year nobody remembers who paid for the last service.

InstantWhere are you moving?
Costs you nothing and there's no salesperson at the end of it.
Then the flat-share ends. One person is moving to Pune, another to HSR, a third home. The bike can only go one way, and before it does, the flatmates have to agree whose it is, whose name is on the papers, and who's signing for it to leave.
Whose bike is it, on paper?
Start with the registration certificate, which is often in a drawer nobody has opened since the bike was bought. The name on it is the owner, whatever the flat's informal arrangement. If that person is the one taking the bike, it's simple. If someone else is keeping it, the bike either needs the owner's written agreement to travel, or a proper ownership transfer.
If the owner is selling their share of the bike to a flatmate, treat it like any sale. Agree the price, write a short sale receipt with both names, and start the ownership transfer with the transport department. That's between the two of you and outside what we do, but it's much easier to do while everyone is still in Bangalore.
If the owner is simply letting a flatmate take it for now, a signed note from the owner saying the bike can be sent with that flatmate, plus a copy of the owner's ID, is what travels with it.
Sort this before booking, ideally over dinner while the flat-share is still a flat-share. A crew arriving to collect a bike that two former flatmates both think is theirs is not a morning anyone enjoys.
Insurance and the riders
Check whose name the insurance policy is in and whether it covers the person who'll be riding it in the new city. A policy taken by one flatmate doesn't automatically suit another, and the move is the right time to fix that.
If ownership is changing, the insurance needs to follow it. Ask the insurer what they need, usually once the transfer has gone through.
Keep the service record and any receipts for recent repairs with the bike's papers. Shared bikes tend to have patchy histories, and the next mechanic will be grateful for whatever there is.
Settle the money too, before anyone leaves. Who paid for the last service, the new tyre, the insurance renewal? It's a small thing compared with the move, but it's the kind of loose end that sours a friendship by text message a month later.
And the traffic fines. If the bike picked up any challans while different people were riding it, they're attached to the registration, so check for them online and clear them before the bike leaves. Nobody wants to discover them in a new city.
Collecting from a Koramangala street
Koramangala's eight blocks are eight different collection problems, and the first question we ask is which one you're in. The leafy inner streets of 3rd Block have old houses with gardens and room at the gate. Blocks 5 and 6 are builder floors, PGs and cafes, and kerb space vanishes by mid-morning. The gated enclaves have internal roads but strict gates.
In most of the flat-share streets there's nowhere for a carrier to pause, so it waits at the end of the street on a bigger road and someone rides the bike down. An early collection, before the cafes open and the delivery riders arrive, is far easier.
Pictures of the bike are taken all round before it's wrapped. With a shared bike, every flatmate seems to have their own memory of which scratch came from whom, so get them all recorded and send the photos to whoever is receiving it.
If the former flatmates are all leaving the same weekend, agree who's handing the bike over. One person, with the key and the papers, and their phone number given to us in advance. Three people answering three different calls on the morning is how a pickup goes wrong.
Scooty shifting after a flat-share
A shared scooter is even more common than a shared motorcycle, since it's what everyone uses for the short trips to Forum, the office and the late-night food run. The same question applies. Whose name is on the RC, and who's keeping it?
On the carrier, a scooter is treated like any two-wheeler and is usually the cheaper one to send. Clear the seat box first. Shared scooters collect everyone's things, and a flatmate's spare key or charger shouldn't end up in another city.
If nobody wants to take the scooter, selling it here to a buyer in Bangalore is often simpler than sending it anywhere.
Spare keys are the other thing to round up. In a flat-share they drift, one in a drawer, one on a flatmate's keyring, one lost entirely. Find them all before pickup, so the person keeping the scooter has every key that exists.
Bike transport from Koramangala
Within Bangalore, to HSR, BTM, Indiranagar or Domlur, it's a short hop finished the same day. Most flat-share bikes going to a flatmate's new place in the city are just that.
For other cities, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad and the Kerala towns are all regular, and a smaller hometown can take longer to arrange, which you'll hear at the quote. The delivery date is agreed before loading.
Run the fuel low before pickup, since the tank is drained before loading. The crew carries photocopies of the RC, the owner's ID and, if needed, the owner's signed note. After a free look at the bike, by video is fine, you'll have the cost in writing with GST shown. If someone's whole room or flat is going as well, see our Koramangala packers page.
