Bike Transport Services in HSR Layout
HSR Layout is full of people who ride every day and haven't looked at their bike's papers since the day they bought it. The RC is in a drawer somewhere, the insurance renews itself or doesn't, and the pollution certificate expired at some point nobody noticed.
Price your Bangalore move before anyone calls you.
Put in the two addresses and the size of the home. You get a worked-out range on screen, itemised the same way the final quote will be — and nobody rings you for it.

Costs you nothing and there's no salesperson at the end of it.
None of that stops a bike from being transported. But a move is the one moment when every one of those papers gets looked at, by the crew, by a checkpost on the way, and by a traffic officer on your first week of riding in a new city. Ten minutes with the folder now saves a lot of trouble later.
What travels with the bike
For the journey itself the crew needs two things: a photocopied registration certificate, and a photocopy of the registered owner's identity card. Those go in an envelope with the bike so that anyone checking the load can see whose it is.
If the RC isn't in your name, add a short signed note from the owner saying the bike may be sent, and a copy of their ID. That covers the common HSR situations, a bike in a parent's name, a bike bought from a colleague where the transfer hasn't finished, or a bike that belongs to a flatmate who's already left.
The originals stay with you, in your own bag. You'll need them to ride it at the other end, and an original that goes missing in transit is a much bigger problem to fix than a photocopy.
Insurance, PUC and the rest of the folder
Look at the insurance policy's end date. If it runs out around the time of the move, renew it before the bike leaves HSR, while you still have time and the old address. A lapsed policy doesn't stop us moving the bike, but it does stop you riding it legally at the other end, and some insurers want to inspect a bike before renewing a lapsed policy.
Then the pollution under control certificate. It's a small slip with a validity date, and it's the paper most riders in a busy city forget. If yours has expired, get a fresh one at a testing centre near Agara or on the ORR before the move. It's quick, and riding without one is a fine waiting to happen.
If the bike was bought on a loan, check whether the RC still shows the bank. A loan repaid long ago can still be noted on the registration until someone asks for it to be removed. That's worth doing before the bike moves to another state, since it's harder to untangle from a distance.
And the service record, which tends to be the last thing anyone thinks of. A booklet or a few invoices showing when the bike was last serviced are useful to the next mechanic, in whatever city you're going to.
Collecting from an HSR building
HSR's housing changes from one street to the next. Independent houses on the main and cross roads usually have room at the gate. The stilt-parking apartment blocks keep bikes jammed between pillars and cars, and the bike has to be manoeuvred out before it can go anywhere. The larger gated projects in the sectors have their own rules for vehicles leaving, which are worth checking with the association.
The carrier stops wherever is safe and legal near your building, often at the gate, sometimes on the nearest main road. The crew photographs the bike before wrapping it, so stand with them and show the marks you know about.
Timing comes down to Silk Board. Anything heading west across the junction wants to be away early. Bikes going along the ORR towards Bellandur or down to Electronic City have more freedom, but an early slot is still the calmest.
If you're in a startup flat-share near 27th Main, check with your flatmates which bikes are going and which are staying. A crew arriving to find three bikes in the yard and no idea which is yours wastes everyone's morning.
Scooty shifting from HSR Layout
Scooters in HSR do a lot of short trips, to 27th Main, the sector parks and the offices on the ORR, and their papers get even less attention than a motorcycle's. The same folder check applies, RC, insurance and PUC.
On the carrier a scooter is cushioned and strapped just as a motorbike is, and it usually comes out a bit cheaper to send. Clear the seat box before pickup, and if the PUC slip or the insurance copy has been living under the seat, take it out and put it with the rest of your papers.
If the scooter is being handed to someone else at the other end, a sibling or a parent, make sure the insurance covers them before they ride it.
Bike transport from HSR Layout to other cities
Most bikes leaving HSR go to the big cities, where carriers come and go constantly, or home to Kerala. A smaller town is reachable but can mean waiting for a vehicle going that way, which you'll hear about at the quote. The delivery date is fixed before the bike is loaded.
If the bike will stay permanently in another state, re-registration there comes up eventually. That's done with the transport department in the new state, and the papers you've just checked are exactly what they'll ask for.
Bring the fuel down before the day, since the tank is emptied before loading. Our survey costs you nothing, and the figure we write down afterwards, GST shown, is what you pay. For a flat or a house moving too, the HSR Layout packers page covers that side.
