Bike Shifting in Hoodi

Plenty of the bikes we handle in Hoodi aren't leaving. They're arriving. Someone has a joining date at an office ten minutes up ITPL Main Road, they've found a PG or a rented floor near Hoodi Circle, and the bike is still back home in Chennai, Kochi or Hyderabad. The question that decides how smoothly it goes isn't the transport at all. It's where the bike is going to stand once it gets here.

Parking near the metro-side buildings and the circle is scarce, and plenty of PGs simply don't have a spot for a new tenant's two-wheeler. Sort that out before the bike leaves home, and the delivery is a ten minute handover on a Sunday. Leave it, and you've got a wrapped motorcycle on the pavement and a warden shaking their head.

Ask the PG about parking before you book

It's the one question people forget to ask when they're viewing a room in a hurry. Is there space for a bike, is it covered, and does it cost anything extra? Some Hoodi buildings have a stilt floor with room for everyone, some have a strip in front of the gate that fills by nine at night, and a few have nothing and expect you to find a spot on the lane.

If the answer is nothing, it's worth a look at what's nearby before the bike arrives. A paid spot in a neighbouring building, a friend's flat in one of the mid-segment blocks, even an arrangement with the shop downstairs. We can deliver to a different address from the one you're sleeping at, it just has to be agreed at booking.

A covered spot matters more than people think. Bikes parked out on the open lane near Hoodi Circle sit in the sun all day and the rain all evening, and a seat cover only does so much. If there's a choice between a cheaper room with no parking and a slightly dearer one with a stilt floor, the bike will tell you which it prefers within a month.

And tell the warden the bike's coming. A delivery crew turning up at a PG gate with a vehicle the building doesn't know about is how a simple handover turns into twenty minutes of phone calls.

Timing it around the joining date

Most of these moves are planned backwards from a Monday. You fly or take the train in on Saturday, settle in on Sunday and want the bike there before your first day so you're not hunting for autos. That's sensible, and it's also exactly what everyone else joining that week is planning, so Sunday delivery slots near the start of the month go early.

There's no harm in having the bike arrive a day or two after you do. You'll know the building by then, you'll have met the warden, and you'll have seen the parking with your own eyes. If the joining date moves, which happens more than offer letters suggest, let us know and the delivery moves with it.

The date we give you is committed before the bike is loaded at the other end. What we won't do is promise a Hoodi delivery on a day the carrier can't honestly make.

Scooty shifting to and from Hoodi

For a lot of people starting out in Hoodi the bike in question is a scooty, the one they used in college back home. It travels the same way a motorcycle does, layered wrap, padded handlebar and mirrors, standing upright in its own space on the vehicle, and it usually works out a little cheaper because it's lighter.

Clear the boot before it's handed over at the other end, and keep the papers with you rather than in it. A copy of the RC and your ID travel with the scooter, and if it's still in a parent's name, which it usually is at this stage of life, add a short signed letter from them.

Bike and two wheeler transport out of Hoodi too

The same thing happens in reverse a year or two later. The PG becomes a 1 BHK, the job changes city, and the bike goes back the other way. Hoodi is well placed for that, the carrier reaches Old Madras Road via KR Puram quickly, so Chennai and Hyderabad are easy runs, and the Kerala routes go often.

Inside the Whitefield belt, a hop to Kadugodi, Mahadevapura or Brookefield, a carrier is often more than you need if you ride the bike every day anyway. We'll say so. It makes sense when the bike is new, not in your name yet, or the other end is across the city.

Leave the tank close to empty for any of these. It's drained before loading.

If you're moving a whole flat

If it's a full household rather than a bike and a suitcase, the bike can go on the same vehicle and the same quote. The Hoodi packers page covers the rest, including the rental walk-ups and the Sunday slots.

FAQ

Bike and Scooty Shifting in Hoodi, answered

It depends mostly on where home is and whether it's a scooty or a motorcycle. Chennai and Hyderabad are regular routes and priced accordingly. You'll get a single written figure on GST before anything is booked.

Yes, as long as the building knows it's coming and there's somewhere for it to stand. Tell the warden ahead and give us a pin for the gate.

We can deliver to a different address, a friend's building or a paid spot nearby, as long as it's agreed at booking and someone is there to receive it.

Often, a lot of new arrivals bring the scooty they rode at college. It's wrapped and strapped the same way as a motorcycle and is usually a bit cheaper.

Usually, if you book early enough. Joining-week Sundays fill up, so the sooner we know the date the better. If your joining date moves, the delivery can move too.

Copies of the RC and his ID, plus a short signed letter from him saying the bike is with you. Keep the originals with you, not with the bike.

Yes. From Hoodi the carrier gets to Old Madras Road through KR Puram, so Chennai and Hyderabad are straightforward. The delivery date is fixed before loading.

If you ride the bike daily and it's a short hop, riding it is fine. A carrier is worth it for a new or untested bike, one not yet in your name, or a long cross-city trip.

You, or someone you've named at booking. They check it against the pickup photos and sign for it.

No, it's drained before loading. Arrive with the tank on reserve and fill up once it's in Hoodi.
