Bike Shifting in Varthur
Some of the projects in Varthur are large enough to have their own map. Prestige Lakeside Habitat and Brigade Cornerstone Utopia run to thousands of homes, and an address that says only the project name tells us very little about where your bike actually is. Which gate, which cluster, which tower, which basement level.
Price your Bangalore move before anyone calls you.
Put in the two addresses and the size of the home. You get a worked-out range on screen, itemised the same way the final quote will be — and nobody rings you for it.

For a household move that's about where the truck parks. For a bike it's simpler and just as important. The carrier needs a place it's allowed to stop, the crew needs to find the bike, and the two need to be close enough that nobody spends forty minutes wheeling a motorcycle around a compound. Give us those details at booking and pickup is quick.
Finding the bike inside a big township
Start with the gate. In the larger communities one entrance is usually meant for service vehicles, and it's rarely the one you drive in through. Security will tell you which, and that's where the carrier goes.
It's worth asking about timing too. A few of the biggest communities only let outside vehicles in during set windows, mid-morning to late afternoon is common, which fights a little with our preference for early starts. Where that's the case we'll take the gate's window and plan the carrier's route around Balagere Road traffic instead.
Then the tower and the basement level. Send us a photo of the bike where it's parked, with a pillar number in the shot if there is one. Basements in these projects all look alike, and a pillar number saves the crew walking rows of identical bikes reading number plates.
Finally, ask whether the carrier can come inside to a designated bay or has to wait at the gate. Some townships allow it, some don't, and a few only allow it at certain hours. If it waits at the gate, the crew walks the bike there along the internal road, which in the biggest projects can be a fair distance.
Villas, mid-size blocks and Balagere Road
The villa communities are the easy end. In Sterling Joy on the Banks, UKN Esperanza or DRA Ranka Palm Lakeside the carrier can usually stop close to the house and the bike is walked a few metres. A gate pass is still normal, so raise it a day ahead.
The mid-size blocks, Sobha Rose, DNR Atmosphere and the Candeur buildings among them, have a different problem. The society is fine, the road outside isn't. Balagere Road carries more than it was built for, and the lane in front of your gate may have no legal place for a vehicle to stop. We'll find one nearby on the survey call and the bike is brought there.
Avoid school-run and office hours on Varthur Kodi and the old market stretch. Early morning is best, Sunday mornings are good too.
And in the monsoon, check the lane. The stretches near the lake and some newer unpaved roads go soft after heavy rain. If the carrier can't stand on firm ground near your block, it'll wait further out and the bike walks a little further. Better that than a vehicle stuck in mud with your bike on it.
Scooter shifting from a Varthur society
Plenty of Varthur families keep a scooter for the shorter runs to the market or the school, alongside a motorcycle for the commute. A scooter is handled no differently on the vehicle, layered wrap, padded mirrors and handlebar, standing upright in its own space, and is usually a little cheaper to send because it's lighter.
In a big township, scooters often live in the two-wheeler area near the ramp rather than in the flat's own bay. Tell us which, and take everything out of the boot first, including the society sticker or tag if the scooter is leaving for good.
Bike and two wheeler transport from Varthur to another city
Varthur families leaving the city tend to head for Chennai, Hyderabad or Pune. From here the carrier reaches the highway through Whitefield and Hoskote, which keeps it out of the city centre. Chennai and Hyderabad run frequently, and Kerala routes are regular. A district town is a different story, carriers fill up more slowly for those, and we'd rather you hear that from us on day one.
An envelope rides with the bike holding photocopies of its RC and the owner's ID card. The originals never leave your hands. Stop filling up a few days out because the petrol comes out before loading. The cost reaches you as one written number, with GST shown, once we've done a free survey, and we lock the delivery day before the bike goes on.
Within the Whitefield and ORR belt, Bellandur or Marathahalli for instance, the move finishes on the same day. A carrier is worth it for a newly bought bike, one not yet in your name, or a delivery to the far side of Bangalore.
If the flat is moving too
When the household is going in the same week, the bike can travel with it and sit on that invoice. The Varthur packers page covers the township logistics for a full truck, which are rather more involved.

The bike can ride on the same vehicle as your household and go on the same quote. The Varthur moving page covers the rest of the move.

Getting the bike ready in Varthur
Bike and Scooty Shifting in Varthur, answered
Route first, bike second. Over to Bellandur is cheap next to a run to Pune, and a scooter usually undercuts a big motorcycle. A free survey, then one written figure, GST included.
The gate for service vehicles, your tower and basement level, and a photo of the bike with a pillar number if possible. Also whether the carrier can come inside.
That's the township's call. Some allow it to a designated bay, others ask it to wait at the gate and the crew walks the bike out.
We do, often. A scooter goes on exactly the way a motorcycle would and normally costs a shade less. Just let us know if it lives in your bay or in the common two-wheeler area.
Usually. The carrier can often stop close to the house. A gate pass is still normally needed.
Yes, Chennai is a frequent route. The carrier leaves through Whitefield and Hoskote and the delivery date is fixed before loading.
Yes. Kerala routes run regularly, though a small town may mean a longer wait for a carrier.
Early morning, before the school run and office traffic on Varthur Kodi and Balagere Road. Sunday mornings are good too.
Most Varthur communities ask for one when a resident's vehicle leaves on another vehicle. Raise it with security a day ahead.
Not at all. We book the pickup inside the window the gate allows and plan the carrier's route around the Balagere Road traffic from there.
Yes, if they're going the same way. It's added to the household quote rather than booked separately.
