Bike Shifting in Vajarahalli
A lot of people arriving in Vajarahalli are moving into the first home they've actually bought. The Green Line reaches this far now, the new apartment projects off Kanakapura Road were within budget, and after years of renting somewhere further in, the keys are finally theirs. The bike comes along too, usually a week or so after the furniture.

Owning the address changes one thing about the bike. For years its RC and insurance may have carried an old rented address, or a parents' home in another town. Now there's a permanent one, and it's worth updating the papers once the bike is here. We bring the bike. The paperwork is yours, and this page explains roughly what it involves.
Bringing the bike to a new Vajarahalli flat
Most of the bikes we deliver here come from a rented flat elsewhere in Bangalore, the last stop before the family finally bought, often JP Nagar, Jayanagar or the Bannerghatta Road side, and those are same-day trips. Others come from a hometown, which takes longer and needs a delivery date agreed before loading.
The new projects here usually have wide internal roads, but some of the approach stretches aren't finished, half laid or dug up for a drain. Where the carrier can't get to your gate, it parks on the nearest good road and the bike is ridden in from there. A video of your approach when you book tells us which it'll be.
Find out from the project office where the bike will park before it arrives, and whether they want to see anything at the gate. If slots haven't been allotted yet, there's normally a temporary area for two-wheelers, and the crew can take it straight there.
The tank arrives dry, because fuel is drained before loading. Keep a bottle handy, or plan a short push to the pump on Kanakapura Road. Doing it on the first evening, before you need the bike for the metro run the next morning, saves a scramble.
Updating the address on the RC
Moving within Karnataka doesn't mean re-registering the bike, whatever a neighbour may tell you. It means asking the transport department to record your new address on the existing registration. The bike keeps its number.
The exact process, documents and fees are set by the transport department and change from time to time, so check the current requirements with the RTO that covers your new address, or on the department's official portal, rather than relying on what someone did a few years ago. You'll generally need proof of the new address, and as an owner a sale deed or an allotment letter is usually easier to produce than a rental agreement ever was.
There's no need to do it before the bike moves. The bike travels on its current papers. Do it once you're settled and have your address proof in hand.
If the bike was bought on a loan and the RC still shows the bank's name, sort that out at the same time. Two changes on one visit is better than two visits.
And the insurance
Your bike insurance has an address on it too. Most insurers let you update it online or with a call, and it's worth doing soon after the move, so next year's renewal reminder reaches you rather than a flat you've left.
While you're there, check the renewal date.
Don't forget anywhere else the old address lives. A parking pass at your office, a fuel card, the bike's service record at the old workshop. None of it is urgent, but the service record especially is worth asking for, since a new mechanic near Kanakapura Road will want to know when the bike was last looked at. People who've just bought a home are busy with a hundred things, and a bike policy that lapses in the middle of it is easy to miss.
Transit insurance for the move itself is a separate, optional cover, priced on the value you declare. For an ordinary commuter many owners skip it. For a newer bike it's worth asking about.
Scooty shifting into your own home
In plenty of Vajarahalli households the scooter is the vehicle for the metro station run, a few minutes to the Green Line and back. It needs to arrive early in your first week, because that's when you'll miss it most.
A scooter is handled the same way a motorcycle is. Its condition is photographed before any wrapping, the bars and mirror stems are cushioned, it's wrapped in layers and strapped upright on the carrier. Being lighter, the cost is usually a touch below a motorcycle's.
Its RC and insurance need the same address update as a motorcycle's. If there are two two-wheelers in the family, do both at once.
Bike and two wheeler transport from Vajarahalli
Bikes leave Vajarahalli too, and for anything heading up towards JP Nagar, Jayanagar or the centre, Kanakapura Road is slow for long stretches of the day, so collections are early. Mysuru-side and southern trips have the advantage of the NICE Road side without crossing the city.
For other cities, Chennai, Hyderabad and the main Kerala towns are regular routes. A smaller town can mean waiting for a vehicle heading that way, and we'll tell you so at the quote.
For the journey the crew holds photocopies of your RC and ID card, never the originals. You get a single written price with GST after a free survey. If you're moving the household into the new flat as well, the Vajarahalli packers page covers that.
