Bike Shifting in HBR Layout
It happens all the time in HBR Layout. Someone renting a floor in one of the blocks gets a job elsewhere, packs a suitcase, hands back the keys and catches a flight. The bike stays behind, parked by the gate, with a promise to the landlord or a flatmate that it'll be collected soon. Then a month goes by.

Collecting a bike when its owner is in another city is perfectly doable. It just needs three things in place, someone at the building who can hand it over, permission that the gate will accept, and the key and papers left where that person can reach them. Sort those from wherever you are now, and we do the rest.
Arranging a handover from another city
Start with the person who'll be there. A flatmate who's still living in the flat is the easiest. A landlord on the ground floor is common too, and usually happy to help if it means the parking spot is cleared. A friend or relative in Bangalore works just as well, as long as they can get to the building on the pickup morning.
Message that person and the landlord together, saying who will hand over the bike, on which day, and that it's going to your new address. A single message with everyone on it saves three separate phone calls and stops anyone feeling surprised.
Pass us that person's contact details when you book. Our crew rings them, and only rings you if a decision is genuinely yours to make.
The key, the papers and the photos
Most people who leave in a hurry take the bike key with them by mistake. If that's you, courier it back to whoever will be at the handover, or ask whether a spare is still in the flat. Without a key, the steering lock usually stays on, and a locked bike is much harder to move.
Leave photocopies of the RC and your ID with the key, in an envelope. If the person handing over isn't you, add a short signed note saying who they are and that you've asked them to release the bike. That covers the crew at the gate and the carrier on the road.
Don't forget the parking spot itself. A landlord who's been kind enough to keep your bike for a month will appreciate the space being left clean, no oil patch, no old cover blowing around. Ask the person handing over to bin the cover if it's past saving.
Because you won't see the bike leave, the condition photos matter more than usual. They're taken before the bike is wrapped and sent to you the same day, so you can see exactly what state it was in after weeks by the gate.
A bike that's been sitting for a few weeks
A bike left outside an HBR Layout building for a month has usually collected dust, maybe a flat tyre, sometimes a weak battery. None of that stops it travelling. It just needs to roll, and the crew can push it to the carrier if it won't start.
If you can, ask the person at the building to check the tyres a day or two before. A bit of air makes the pickup quicker. And if a cover's been on it, ask them to take it off so the bike can be photographed properly.
A dead battery can also mean the alarm or immobiliser misbehaves if your bike has one. If you know yours has an aftermarket alarm, tell us, and tell the person at the building how to switch it off. A siren going off on a quiet HBR street at seven in the morning wins nobody any friends.
The block grid here is orderly, and most streets take a carrier close to the gate, so a non-runner isn't pushed far.
Scooty shifting after you've moved
Plenty of the bikes left behind in HBR Layout are scooters, light enough that a flatmate could wheel one out of the way for a month without minding. On collection day it gets the full treatment a motorcycle would, padding, layers of wrap, upright straps, and the bill is usually a shade lower.
Ask whoever has access to check the boot. People leave all kinds of things in a scooter when they move out in a rush, and the time to find them is before the crew wraps it.
Bike and two wheeler transport to your new city
HBR Layout sits on the ORR, so the carrier reaches KR Puram and Old Madras Road for the Chennai and Hyderabad runs, or Hebbal and the airport side heading north, without going through the middle of Bangalore. Kerala routes are regular too. A small town can take longer to fill a vehicle, and we'd say so at the quote.
The delivery day is committed before the bike is loaded, and it's handed over at your new address with a second set of photos for you to compare. Since nobody's riding it beforehand, the tank is likely low already, and whatever's left comes out before loading.
Pricing needs only a quick look at the bike, which the person at the building can give us on a video call, and then the number arrives in writing with tax broken out. If there's still furniture in the old flat to move, the HBR Layout packers page covers that, and it can go on the same invoice.

The ORR gives the carrier a clean line out without crossing the city, towards Hebbal for the north or KR Puram for the east.
Yes. Smaller towns can mean a longer wait for a carrier, and we'll say so at the quote.

Tell us at booking and show the person at the building how to switch it off. A weak battery can make alarms misbehave.
