Bike Transport Services in Jayanagar
Across Jayanagar's grid, old single-family houses are being rebuilt into builder floors one block at a time. Each rebuild means two moves. The family leaves for a rental nearby, often for a year or so, and then comes back to a new floor in the same plot.

The bike has to go somewhere in between. A construction site is no place to leave it, the rental may have no parking, and nobody wants to ride a scooter through a year of rubble at the old address. There are two good answers, and which one suits you depends on how much you'll ride it while the work goes on.
Rental or storage for the year
If someone in the family rides the bike every day, it goes to the temporary rental with you. Jayanagar's rentals are often a few streets away, so that's a short local trip, done the same day, and it can ride with the household on the morning of the move-out.
If the bike is ridden rarely, or the rental has nowhere to park it, storage is the better answer, and it saves you checking on it every week. Our warehouse and storage service keeps it covered and logged until the floors are ready, which saves you a year of finding a parking spot near a rented floor.
Some families split it. The daily scooter goes to the rental, the motorcycle that only comes out on weekends goes into storage with the furniture that won't fit in a smaller flat.
Either way, decide before the builder sets the demolition date. Once the site is fenced off, getting a bike out of the old portico is far harder than it was the week before.
Getting the bike out before demolition
Clear the bike out with the rest of the house, on the same day if you can. Builders often bring in their own equipment within days of the family leaving, and a bike left in a corner of the compound becomes an obstacle, or worse, a casualty.
The planned blocks give a carrier plenty of room to approach. What limits it is overhead, the big old trees and the low-hanging cables along many streets. The carrier stands where it fits, often at the gate, sometimes a few houses down where the branches are higher, and the bike is wheeled there.
The bike is photographed all round before any wrap goes on, and for a bike heading into storage those pictures matter even more. A year is a long time to remember what a scratch looked like.
If you're moving out in stages, say so. A bike can be collected on a different day from the furniture if that's what the builder's schedule allows.
Bringing it back to the new floors
When the builder hands over, the move-back reverses everything. The bike comes out of storage, or back from the rental, and goes to the new building's parking. Builder floors in Jayanagar usually have stilt parking under the building, which is a big improvement on the old portico if the slots are sensibly laid out.
Before booking the move-back, check with the builder that the parking area is actually finished and the gate works. Handover dates slip, and a building with a finished flat and an unfinished stilt area is common.
A bike that's spent a year in storage needs a little attention when it comes out. Check the tyres, the battery and the brakes before you ride it, and get it serviced if it's been a long stretch.
If other floors in the building are being sold or rented to new families, agree parking slots early. Three households sharing one stilt area need a plan before the first bike arrives.
Scooty shifting through a rebuild
The family scooter is usually the one that goes to the rental, since it does the daily errands to the 4th Block market and the metro. It's light enough to fit in a narrow rented-floor passage where a motorcycle wouldn't.
On the carrier it gets the same care as any bike, and costs a little less. If it's going into storage instead, empty the seat box, take off anything clipped on, and leave a note of when its insurance renews, so it doesn't lapse quietly while it's stored.
Older scooters that have lived in a Jayanagar portico for years sometimes carry a decade of small marks. They're all photographed at pickup, so nobody has to remember them when it comes back.
If the scooter belongs to an elderly parent who won't be riding during the rebuild, storage is often the kinder choice than squeezing it into a rental.
Bike transport in Jayanagar and beyond
Most Jayanagar bike moves are short, to a rental a few blocks away, to storage, or back again. They're same-day jobs. Basavanagudi, BTM and JP Nagar are all close, and the metro's Green Line means the family can check on the site without the bike.
Some families use the rebuild year to send a bike to relatives elsewhere. Chennai, Hyderabad and the Kerala cities are regular routes, and somewhere small takes longer, as we wait for a vehicle going that way, which we'll say up front.
The bike carries copied papers only, RC and owner's ID. After a free survey you get a fixed price in writing with GST, and storage is priced for the time you need it. For the household side of a rebuild move, the Jayanagar packers page has the details.
Keep the storage receipt and the pickup photos together with the bike's papers. A year from now they'll be the first things you look for.

The bike can ride on the same vehicle as your household and go on the same quote. The Jayanagar moving page covers the rest of the move.
