Car Transport Services in HSR Layout

Almost everyone moving a car out of HSR Layout asks the same question at the survey. Why are there two prices? The answer is that a car can travel in two ways. It can share a multi-car carrier with other people's cars going the same way, or it can have a carrier booked for it, leaving on the date you choose.

Neither is better in every case, and we don't push one over the other. The shared option costs less. The dedicated one gives you control over the date. Which you pick depends mostly on how fixed your plans are at the other end, and how much a few days either way actually matter to you.

Shared: cheaper, with a window

A shared carrier takes several cars heading in the same direction. The cost of the trip is split between them, which is why it's the affordable choice for most families.

The trade-off is timing. A shared carrier leaves when it has its load, so you get a delivery window rather than a precise date. We give that window honestly at the quote, rather than an optimistic date that slips.

Shared suits you if you're flying ahead and can manage without the car for a little while, if you're staying with family at first, or if the car is a second vehicle nobody needs on the first day.

Popular routes fill fastest, so a car going to a big city on a shared carrier usually waits less than one going somewhere smaller, where it may take a while for enough cars to be heading the same way.

It also helps to be flexible at the collection end. A shared carrier picks up several cars around the city before it leaves, so the slot at your gate may be early one morning rather than at an hour of your choosing. Most HSR families find that easy, since an early slot is what we'd recommend anyway.

Think about what you'll do without the car in the meantime. For many families the answer is cabs and the metro for a week or two, which is a lot cheaper than the difference between the two carrier prices.

Dedicated: your date, at a higher price

A dedicated carrier is booked for your car, or for very few cars, and leaves on the date you agree. It costs more, because the trip isn't split as many ways.

It suits a fixed handover. A new job with a company car policy that ends on a set day, a lease at the other end that starts on the first, a family that needs the car the morning they arrive because there's no other way to reach the new school.

It also suits cars whose owners want them handled as little as possible, a high-value car, a rare one, or one with modifications that need careful loading.

If you're unsure, ask us to quote both. Seeing the two figures side by side usually makes the choice obvious.

A middle path sometimes works too. If your date is fixed but not urgent, booking a shared carrier well in advance gives the best chance of a window that covers it, for less than a dedicated one. We'll tell you honestly whether that's realistic for your route.

Loading from an HSR building

HSR's housing changes street by street. Independent houses on the main and cross roads often have a gate a carrier can pull up near early in the morning. The stilt-parking apartment blocks keep cars tucked between pillars, and those need to be driven out to the road. The gated projects in the sectors have internal roads but their own rules about long vehicles.

If there's no room for the carrier by your building, we fix a meeting point on a bigger road, and one of our team drives the car over. Every car is photographed on all sides with its odometer reading before it's loaded.

The thing to plan around is Silk Board on the layout's western edge. A carrier heading west or into the city wants to be past it early. Routes along the ORR towards the east or down to Electronic City have more room for manoeuvre.

Ask your association what it needs for a carrier, ideally a week before, usually its registration number and a copy of your RC. Some HSR buildings want an owner's NOC for a tenant's vehicle leaving.

Getting the car ready

Keep the fuel low, a quarter tank at most. Clear the cabin, the boot and the glovebox, and hand over one key, keeping the spare. The car travels locked.

Note any scratches you know about, so the condition check goes quickly. Mention anything unusual, an alarm that reacts to movement, a low front bumper, roof bars or a bike rack that need to come off.

Hand the crew copies of the paperwork, and hold on to the original RC, insurance policy and PUC yourself. If you're settling permanently in another state, the car's re-registration there is a step for you with that state's transport department later.

If you've chosen a shared carrier, make sure someone at the destination can receive the car on any day within the window, rather than one particular day.
