Bike Transport Services in Jakkasandra
Jakkasandra sits between Koramangala's 1st Block and HSR Layout, close to Sarjapur Road, and plenty of the people renting here came from north India for work. When they go back, to Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Chandigarh, Lucknow or Jaipur, the bike often goes too.

A bike going north in winter makes one of the longest journeys we run, and it arrives in a climate Bangalore never prepared it for. A little planning around the distance, the season and the cold makes the first week in the new city much easier.
The long road north
Delhi is roughly the length of the country from Jakkasandra, and a loaded truck covers it at a truck's pace. Because the capital and its satellite cities are such common destinations, finding a vehicle north is rarely the problem; patience on the road is.
A bike headed for a district town in Uttar Pradesh or a Haryana village may need to wait for a load going exactly there. Often the faster answer is delivery to the closest big city, with a family member riding it the rest of the way.
Because it's a long trip, the condition photos at pickup matter more than usual. Stand with the crew while they're taken, point out existing marks, and keep copies on your phone.
Tell whoever receives the bike the expected date, and give them the crew's number. Long-haul arrival days can shift a little, and someone at the far end needs to be reachable.
If you're flying north and the bike is on the road, you'll almost certainly land first. Use the gap to sort parking at the new place: northern apartment societies have their own sticker and registration rules, and having the bike's number ready helps.
Some people time the bike to arrive after a festival or a family wedding at home, when someone will be around to receive it. That's sensible; long-haul deliveries are easier when the family isn't busy with guests.
Winter in the north
In December and January, dense fog settles over the plains of north India, especially in the early mornings. Trucks slow down, highways sometimes close for hours, and long-distance schedules stretch. If your move falls in that window, build a little slack into your plans at the far end.
Cold is the other surprise. A bike that has lived its whole life in Bangalore's mild weather will meet near-freezing mornings in Delhi or Chandigarh. Batteries lose strength in the cold, and an old battery that coped in Koramangala may give up in Noida.
If the battery is more than a couple of years old, consider replacing it before the bike leaves. It costs little and saves a frustrating first week of kick-starting in the cold.
Engine oil matters a little too. Ask your mechanic whether the grade in the bike suits a northern winter, especially if it's due for a change anyway.
Summer is the opposite problem. A move in May or June means arriving in heat that Bangalore never sees, and a bike parked in the sun all afternoon. Fit a seat cover and park in the shade.
Collecting from Jakkasandra
Jakkasandra's streets are a mix of independent houses, PGs and small apartment blocks, with narrow lanes and parked cars. A long carrier generally waits on a wider road nearby, towards Sarjapur Road or the Koramangala side, and the bike is ridden out.
Early mornings are best. Sarjapur Road and the roads towards Silk Board get busy quickly, and a long-haul carrier wants to be out of the city before the traffic builds.
Jakkasandra's PG compounds are tight. Last evening, ease your bike out to the front row and mention the dawn truck to whoever minds the gate, so the quiet first hour goes on loading and not on explanations.
Have the envelope ready with photocopies of the RC and your ID, plus the owner's signed note if the bike is registered to someone else. The originals go north with you.
Scooter shifting to north India
Plenty of north-bound bikes from here are scooters. They're cushioned for the long haul just as carefully, and they come in under a motorcycle's price.
A scooter used in a northern winter needs proper riding gear: gloves, a jacket that cuts the wind, and a helmet with a visor that seals. None of that was necessary in Bangalore. Buy it before you arrive, or on the first day.
Scooter batteries are smaller and more sensitive to cold than a motorcycle's. If it's old, replace it before the scooter leaves, or plan to on arrival.
Clear the seat box before pickup, and check it at delivery. Long journeys are where small loose things go missing.
Pollution certificates are checked more often in some northern cities than in Bangalore. If yours is close to expiry, get a fresh one before leaving or on the first day after arrival.
Bike transport from Jakkasandra to Delhi and other northern cities
From Jakkasandra, the northern cities people ask for most are Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Jaipur. All are routine. Anywhere well off the national highways adds waiting time, which we'll be honest about up front.
If the bike will stay in a northern state permanently, re-registration there will come up eventually, and Karnataka's transport department usually needs to issue a clearance first. That's for the owner to arrange; we only carry the bike, but it's worth knowing before you go.
Burn the petrol down on Sarjapur Road in your last week; the remainder won't make the trip. We inspect for free and quote in writing with GST. The flat's contents can follow via our Koramangala packers page.
Your receiver in the north should check the bike against the pickup photos before signing, and keep a little petrol handy. If the bike arrives on a foggy morning, it may simply need a few attempts to start.
Keep the Bangalore invoice and the photos together. If the bike is re-registered later, the receipt is useful proof of when and how it arrived.
